Whether you are an operator, manager or owner, our specialized partner firms will help you choose the right coverage.

Commercial space with group lessons: RC exploitation, content, showcases, students’ belongings.

Independent Yoga Teacher

Classes given in the studio, in the company or outdoors. Professional liability for advice and postures.

School and training

In-company / off-site courses

Travel to the customer’s premises, RC extended to places not under your control.

Why specialized coverage?

RC

Covers an injury sustained by a student during a class, in the event of slipping, forced posture or improper adjustment.

PR

Professional liability

Protects against recourse related to improper advice or fit that has caused injury.

EQ

Equipment and premises

Carpets, bricks, straps, mirrors, changing rooms, sound. Theft, vandalism and fire coverage.

AS

Intern Insurance

Accident coverage for participants — paramedical expenses, care following a minor injury.

How does it work?

A few minutes to describe your business, operations, and locations.

2

A broker from an AMF-registered partner firm will review your file and shop for the best protection.

3

💡

Good to know before your request

Keep a record of participants, a signed release (PAR-Q), and a record of your instructors’ certifications. These documents speed up the analysis of the file and can reduce the premium.

⚠️ The risk of operating without adequate coverage

Without insurance, a neck or back injury in the middle of class can result in a lawsuit of tens of thousands of dollars. The studio, the teacher and even the school that certified it can be targeted.

Frequently asked questions

Is my freelance yoga teacher covered in the studio?
Not automatically. Each teacher should have his or her own professional liability, or be named as an additional insured in the studio’s policy.
Does hot yoga cost more to insure?
Often yes, because of the risk of heat-related vasovagal discomfort. To be declared upon submission.
Am I covered for the in-company courses?
Yes, as long as the coverage explicitly mentions off-site travel. To be specified to the broker.
Do you need different insurance for aerial yoga?
Civil liability is more demanding and the insurer will ask for anchor inspection documentation, teacher certifications and a written safety protocol.
Is the students’ equipment covered?
Personal equipment is covered by their own home insurance. You cover the studio equipment.
How much liability insurance is recommended?
Usually $2 million for a small studio, $5 million for a high-traffic studio or training program.
How long does it take to get a quote?
Usually 1 to 3 business days after receipt of the completed form.
Am I covered for one-off workshops?
Yes, if the contract mentions it. For a special event with a lot of guests, event coverage can complement this.
