Who is this insurance for?

Whether you are an operator, manager or owner, our specialized partner firms will help you choose the right coverage.

Classic 10-pin bowling centre

Multiple aisles, automatic lifting machines, rental equipment.

Bowling room (5 pins)

Historic Quebec format, sometimes older equipment to be upgraded to new.

Mini-bowling / cosmic bowling

Short aisles, neon atmosphere, sound, events. Audio-visual to cover.

Centre with catering / bar

Liquor license, cooking, fire risk cooking, RC alcohol.

Center with arcade / billiards

Risk of use by children, electronic arcade games, common areas.

Rented room for leagues and tournaments

Recurring evenings, private parties, children’s parties — RC to be extended.

Why specialized coverage?

RC

Operating liability

Falling on waxed floor, being injured by a dropped ball, or claiming after a trip on the approach driveway.

EQ

Keel Machines

Pinsetters, automatic returns, scoring screens. Frequent mechanical breakdown to be covered.

RA

Catering and alcohol

Commercial kitchen, fire risk, food poisoning, alcohol poisoning (alcohol RC).

IF

Business interruption

A major pinsetter outage can close several lanes and cause revenue to plummet for weeks.

💡

Good to know before your request

Keep a pinsetter maintenance log, safety displays (lanyard, no-trespass beyond the foul line), and an alcohol RC policy if serving. This management evidence reduces conditions.

⚠️ The risk of operating without adequate coverage

A customer slips out of the approach aisle, fractures his hip: without adequate coverage, the claim can exceed $100,000. The service of alcohol increases legal and moral exposure.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need a separate RC for alcohol service?
Alcohol liability is part of a good policy for a center that serves. It can be included as an option or as an addendum.
Are my old pinsetters covered as new?
If the policy says “replacement cost”, yes. Often recommended given their high replacement price.
Does a children’s party change the cover?
Not in itself, but it should be mentioned if it is recurring. The RC must anticipate the presence of a large number of children.
Are leagues held at my place covered?
Yes, in the context of normal operation. Check if separate coverage is required for purses and tournaments.
Coverage for clocking system failures?
Equipment breakdown + business interruption coverage to be added — highly recommended.
Duty to display safety?
Clearly display the rules (bowling shoes, no access to the aisles). It is also a question of defence in the event of a claim.
Coverage on my arcade devices?
Covered in equipment provided that they are declared in the inventory.
Which RC limit should I choose?
$2 million for a small room; $5 million recommended as soon as there is alcohol, catering or events.
